They wanted forever… but sometimes forever’s not that easy.

Ellen has loved Jagger since she was five and he was seven when they kissed through the chain link fence at school. She’s had their wedding planned since she was twelve and is ready for a happily ever after with him, but life just isn’t that neat and tidy.

Although they lost contact over the years, which broke her heart, during Jag’s senior year in high school, sophomore Ellen catches his eye once again and their friendship is back on. When things between them gradually develop into something more, Ellen wants to give herself completely to Jag, but he’s not so sure he wants to risk their relationship in taking things to the next level.

When Jag is drafted to the Dodgers as the hot, new pitcher of the team, Ellen decides to go with him, transferring colleges and leaving her friends and family behind. But things get more and more complicated when busy schedules, a slimy agent and a supermodel disrupt their lives, which makes Ellen question whether they’ll ever get their perfect forever.

This is the first book of the True Love Trilogy.

Discovering us was the first boxed set I bought for my Kindle. At first I was hella wary about getting it because, I’m going to be for realz, I didn’t know how boxed sets would work on my Kindle. Alas, my finger didn’t hesitate over the ‘Purchase’ button. A week later and I’m happy to say that I have a NEW FAV. SERIES YA’LL.

This is one of those high school romances. (It’s cool, things are pretty G-rated, that is… until the middle of the book.) *wink wink*

It took me a moment to get into the book, mainly because I wasn’t sure where in the heck it was going. But OH, when I fell in love with Jagger Jensen. OMG. Guys. OMG. I fell hard.

And OF COURSE, since he’s a professional baseball player I fell for him. (i will be seeing him in my dreams tonight.) Mm. Hm.

This story gives us the life of Jagger and El as high school sweethearts to young adults. There’s a BUTT LOAD of jealousy, girl and boy drama, trust issues, and lies. (there’s also this broad I still want to jack slap, but we won’t get into that right now.)

El- I HEART her to the moon and back. She was totally relatable and I love how the author brought us her story WAYY back when she was in high school to her present life as a young adult at the age of, eh, 25 give or take some years.

Jag- Still have to fan myself when I think about this sexy eye candy. Just… (give me a moment to breath) He is a total swoon fest and, did I mention the awesome fact that he is a pro BASEBALL PLAYER?? (Oh, only about 100 times Keionda, Jeesh.)

She is a ride or die best friend and I SO want to have one of her. (especially since i don’t have any BFFS in real life. i know. i know. So sad.)

Untitled6There’s tons of boy drama and girl drama. And all of Jag’s jealous moments had me pulling an evil grin. *Evily twiddles fingers together*

Untitled6It’s obvious how Jag feels about El, and I LURVE the fact that he was always straight up with El about his feelings for her. (Because, we all know, sometimes we hold things in that we don’t want others to know) But that was SO NOT the case with sexy Mr. Jag Jensen.

Untitled6I loved this couple was so relatable! Things that happen to them, happen to real couples in real life. They have their ups and downs but of course, they come out stronger. (most of the time)

888There aren’t many things I didn’t like in this book BUT for the sake of this review, I’d say I didn’t like all of the times Jag allowed a messy female to bamboozle him so she could get in between him and El. (some of those times i was just like, really? YO, REALLY???

Like, how you no see through her fakeness?

888Since it tells the story from high school and all, of course there are some immature moments (which is to be expected because, YA KNOW, i  too was a tad bit immature as a younglin’.)

OMG. Like, you guys I can’t recommend this book to you guys enough! If you’re looking for swoon, HOT AND STEAMY MOMENTS, (believe me, there’s a TON of those), relatable characters, and a fabtastical time, this is definitely the book for you.

                      Over To You:

Do YOU like jealousy in a guy? Also, does an evil grin flash across your face when it happens? What about instalove? Do you despise it like me? (because believe me, I DREAD it when i see it in a book)

  1. The dreaded highschool drama..dun dun duuuuuuuuun! Lol, oh boy, your review cracked me up. Ever notice guys easily get distracted by b*tchy bimbos? Seriously, it’s gotta be something in there brain that doesnt allow them to see through the BS. Hahaha, wink wink! That sounds like some window climbing action going on once the middle part hits- bad teens. Great review hun <3

    • Ughhhhh. Ikr?? I just wanted to jump through the book and slap him a couple of times ( the broad could get some slap action too) it’s like guys just can’t see stright with all the gloriousness of…. boobs. Hehe

  2. Red Iza

Insta attraction, yes, insta love, no. I don’t mind jealousy as long as the guy keeps it inside, if it turns into possessiveness, I might turn into a harpy *evil grin* I’m glad you enjoyed that one so much !

    • RIGHT! There is a very special place in the underworld for insta-love. And YES. This book will forever live in a special place in the recesses of my heart. ♡♡♡

  3. Oh, you had me at baseball player and high school sweethearts! Love those so muches!

In general, I don’t like insta-love, but that is b/c it is usually written in a way that I can’t buy it, but I will say there have been a few ‘love at first sights’ that were done well. And jealousy? Again, depends on how the author writes it. I like to see a reaction when a gal or guy sees their sweetie getting attention from another.

    • I SOOOO agree with you Sophia!and if high school sweethearts and baseball players are your thing, girl! You are going to fall and you are going to fall hard! I didn’t expect to like the book or the characters so much. 🙂

  4. There are some who think that jealousy can be hot. I agree and disagree with that because sometimes jealousy can take a turn for the worst. I’ve seen it happen to a lot of people and it wasn’t a good outcome. Now, I may have to grab this book because it sounds like something that I’d read. I love high school romances that are done right.

    • This is totally the book for you then girl. Plan on getting super attached to the characters, their problems, their love, and the awesome story line. 🙂 ♡♡♡♡♡ this is going on my “to be read again” shelf hehe

  5. Haha, I’m definitely curious now what you and Jagger will be doing in your dreams tonight 😛 It sounds like it’s something similar to what I’m imagining with my book boyfriends! I’m not really a fan of girl/boy drama, though! I think there was a time that I loved reading about it, but I’m way over that phase now! Jealousy is something that I may find endearing as long as no violence or yelling is involved after. That stuff turns me off honestly!

    Faye at The Social Potato

    • Ohhh believe me girl, I dont like jealousy if it includes hitting, yelling, etc. Nope. Nope. Nope. and omg Faye. Hahaha Jagger and me….. I can so see it happening. There’s so many hot moments where I pictured myself instead of the heroine it’s not even funny. *faints*

  6. I haven’t bought a lot of box sets ebooks either, but if you are planning to read the whole series you can just as well buy the box set, although with box sets I do feel more of the urge to read all the books in the set right after another, while if I buy them seperately I might not.
Sounds like a great series, with fun characters and the right kind of drama.
I don’t like insta love either, I want to feel and experience the characters falling in love. Concerning jealousy it depends a bit on how it is written, I don’t like it when they get all over-protective or agressive, but a bit of jealousy can make it more obvious how much they care. Great review!

    • I always, ALWAYS love to hear hear you have to say Lola. 😉 and yes I kind of felt an obligation to go ahead and complete the entire series because it was a box set but Believe me girl! It was well with it. ♡♡

  7. It is rare for me to add a book from a single review, but that is what I have done here. Thank you for your well formed review. I look forward to reading this and will let you know when I make my way to it in my TBR.

  8. Ommmmg how amazing is that. When I decide to visit your blog after so long I find myself in love with this book. I just love these types of books 😀 Specially whe that Jag is a handsome fella ;). I can’t believe I haven’t read it yet ;0 Thank you so much for sharing it! 🙂

    *Heena 🙂

    • Hiiiii Heena! It has been a long time. (and as usual, I love all the quotes you put up on your blog!) They really make my day. 🙂 And you should definitely give this one a try out girl. It’s sooo good and it sucks you in 🙂 <3

  9. Wow Keionda! This sounds like a great read! I can see how passionate you are in your review! I think I’d really like Jag 😉
As for jealousy in a guy… a little bit is nice, but not over the top stop-you-from-doing-things type is a big NO!

    Naomi @ Naomi’s Reading Palace

    • I SOOOO agree with you Naomi. I don’t care for that: you-can’t-go-out-unless-I-know-who-with type of jealousy. That’s a complete turn off BUT rest assured that there is none of that in this book. 😉

  10. I don’t read a lot of NA books because in the end it’s true that they’re quite all the same but I like a good one from time to time and it’s great to see it was the case with this one.

    • Wow. I am like so late replying back to comments as you can see. =/ And Yes Melliane, this one was very unique and I LOVED the fact that the male character was a baseball player. *swoons AGAIN* 🙂

  11. I LOVE books where one of the main characters plays a sport! And in this case, it’s the hero so *swoon*! Also, he’s the jealous type?! Holy crap, I am so in already. Plus he’s also honest about his feelings? I think this book boyfriend was written just to please me. 😉 Awesome review, Keionda! I’m DEFINITELY adding this one to my TBR. <3

    Aimee @ Deadly Darlings

    • Ohhh Aimee, trust me girl YOU ARE GOING TO FALL for him. Gosh. Like this book is going on my “to be read again” shelf! 😉 and I do not kid.

  12. Ah, I love sports romances that are done well:) And yay for relatable girls! Those are always a must when it comes to a great read. I don’t really mind drama too much either if it’s not very excessive, because it could get tiresome after some time, but I’m glad it worked out for you in this case 😉 Thanks so much for introducing this one to me!

    • YESSS Siiri! This is the best! And I was hoping to find the right kind of Gifs to accurately portray how I was feeling because GOSH. hehe I hope you get to read it one day soon girl! <3

  13. I don’t mind SOME jealousy in a guy, but there’s fine line between being jealous and being ridiculously possessive. It sounds like this one has some really good steamy scenes but other than that, the characters would drive me crazy

    • I agree Jeann. 🙂 SOME jealousy is okay but when it borders crazy stalkerish….they can save all of that. I think you would like this one though. 🙂
