Some loves will last 'til your dying breath Every choice has consequences—but seventeen-year-old Layla faces tougher choices than most. Light or darkness. Wickedly sexy demon prince Roth, or Zayne, the gorgeous, protective Warden she never thought could be hers. Hardest of all, Layla has to decide which side of herself to trust. Layla has a new problem, too. A Lilin—the deadliest of demons—has been unleashed, wreaking havoc on those around her…including her best friend. To keep Sam from a fate much, much worse than death, Layla must strike a deal with the enemy while saving her city—and her race—from destruction. Torn between two worlds and two different boys, Layla has no certainties, least of all survival, especially when an old bargain comes back to haunt them all. But sometimes, when secrets are everywhere and the truth seems unknowable, you have to listen to your heart, pick a side—and then fight like hell…

Being a huge JLA fan, it was like DUH, I had to have this book in my hands. (well, on my Kindle) Armentrout is known for writing about swoony guys and her writing is always full of wit and.. and… it’s just a good time, okay??

  1. Nice pick. I’m waiting on One With You (Crossfire #4) by Sylvia Day, which is no surprise since I’ve read and reviewed the others. No post for it, because I don’t have the time to get one together right quick. I was just checking my emails, and saw that you had posted today. I’m still swamped girlie, and I had a big argument at work yesterday with a coworker. My mood hasn’t improved at all. TTYL!

    • That doesn’t sound good at all! If you ever need ANYTHING or a shoulder to rant to, I’M THERE!:) I know how bad that can be to not get along with coworkers! So, keep on doing what you’re doing and praying and keep the faith! God will see you through it. 😉

  2. I *think* I have this series on my kindle but have not read it yet because I’ve noticed that JLA loves cliffhangers haha. So I would wait for the series to end before I read it. Is this the last book? Which reminds me, I need to finish reading LUX. I still need to start book 3!

    • Yessss! JLA deff loves those cliffhanger endings and from reading her books I’ve learned to wait until her series is COMPLETE! No surprise endings over here! 🙂

  3. Ro

I haven’t read her work, but this sounds super interesting, and I can tell you really like her novels! I’m still reading suspense novels and while it’s not heavy on romance, the hunks are heroically hot and protective. Hugs…Ro

    • Ohhh suspense novels! I’ve been meaning to get my hands on a good suspense book –>And I’m oddly okay that there’s no romance in it… pfft. Who am I kidding. I LIVES for the romance. 😉

  4. I have read the first two books in her Lux series and the first 3 books in her convenant series. I like the convenant series better so far. I own a few more of her books, but haven’t really been in the mood for them in a while. I like her style, although I often find her boosk to be a bit predictable. I haven’t picked up this series yet, I did got halfway through the prequel book and then forgot I was reading it, oops.

    • I say you give the rest of the Lux series a try girl! I’m still hooked on them! (And, I hate to say this but I still haven’t tried out her Covenant series yet) –>I’m such a bad fan. hehe

  5. Ooh, is this a new series? I’ve loved her two YA series, Lux and the other one for the life of me I can’t remember the name. The one thing she does soooo well is sexual tension. It’s among the best I’ve read. Definitely need to check this one out and thanks for sharing Keionda <3 <3

    • Yayyy! *Happy dances with you* I can’t wait for this series either (I usually wait until a series is complete before I start reading it so I won’t have to wait) Yes, yes I know I’m a total cheater. 😉
