When Jade first arrived at Moorhurst College, she never imagined that the guy who helped her move in would end up being the guy she wants to be with forever. Now, seven months later, Jade and Garret are starting to talk about a future together. But the people around Jade are planting doubts in her mind, questioning her decision to be part of the Kensington family. Behind their lavish lifestyle are obligations and commitments that Garret may not be able to free himself from.
One of these obligations is something Garret never knew about. Even his father wasn’t aware of what’s in store for his son. And once he finds out, it seems there’s nothing he can do about it.
Just when Jade and Garret thought their problems were over, this new challenge emerges. Garret learns something that could change his future forever. And Jade’s future as well.
As the school year comes to a close, will Jade and Garret get the happy ending they deserve? Or will bigger forces intervene? Garret promised Jade he’d always be there for her. But can he keep his promise?
For me, Promising You was JUST… OMG…
Man grab yo tissue boxes ya’ll! You’re not going to want to miss out on this book. So if you haven’t read the series yet, you should start it like…
In this book, there’s a whole lot of Drama. Drama. Drama.
It teaches the lesson of love and sticking together in the tough times. Even though things may be difficult, you have to keep going to make it across the finish line. 🙂
You ever have that feeling that things are going great and couldn’t be going any better? But then deep down you know its too good to possibly last?
Well that’s exactly how Jade is feeling.
This fourth book in the series starts off where the last one left off. Jade finds herself face to face with the one man she never thought she would meet. (And you’re not going to believe who it is!)
Jade and Garrett gave to fight to be together even if means Garrett has to go against his family’s wishes. But for Jade, it also means she has to finally face and conquer her past once and for all.
In this novel they have much bigger fish to fry and a heck of a lot more to worry about. Not only do they have to worry about drama from Garrett stuck up friends but now The Organization is playing playing a much bigger role in their relationship. There’s so many things that come up and threaten to break them up.
Can Jade and Garrett ever get over the drama surrounding them? Better yet will these secrets and rules break them apart for good?
But what I believe is that God doesn’t give us more than we can handle in life.
It was only one hurdle so they could jump over it and start their life together. But of course outside influences and problems with The Organization won’t let them do that and just be happy. And guess what it all has to do with?
The fact that Jade doesn’t come from riches nor a powerful family means that she and Garrett can’t be together.
I believe the things they go though in this book really makes them stronger.
In my opinion I don’t care if you’re black blue yellow white or rich or poor everyone is is a human being and we all deserve to be treated with equal fairness. So this whole mess with The Organization and their silly rules just made me mad.
Jade and Garrett should have the chance to be together and be happy without any interference from third parties.
Now enough of my rant. Take this gushy quote with Jade and Garretr. (One of the many) 😉
“In the past year I’ve learned that love can make you do crazy, silly, stupid, ridiculous things. And the fact that one person can make you feel this way and do those things is amazing to me.”
This book almost had me in tears. There’s so many sad moments and heart stopping moments in the book that I just couldn’t keep up. But I stayed on the sidelines rooting for my favorite couple that they could make it through this next hurdle in their relationship.
If you haven’t read this book yet I don’t want this part to give away to much so if you wish to not spoil it for yourself I suggest you avert your eyes like now..
Usually I prefer to start a series when it’s already completed because I hate the wait. And if it’s a year or more wait I don’t eant to have to wait so long. But the author is usually quick about getting these books out.
This is the fourth book and Pearce (Garrett’s dad) is still treating Jade like a human. He even bought her new running accessories and a new freaking CAR! (I think it was a BMW to be exact)
Well it must be nice…
Who else when you met Jade’s grandfather was just like:
But I do love the fact that Jade has her grandfather in her life considering the fact that she didn’t have her mom coherently with her during her life. Nor did she know any of her family that we know of.
***YOU MAY RETURN NON-SPOILER PEOPLE***
Let’s see how Promising You rated on the coffee scale, shall we?
