No one is like Daemon Black.
When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn’t fooling around. Doubting him isn’t something I’ll do again, and now that we’ve made it through the rough patches, well… There’s a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.
But even he can’t protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.
After everything, I’m no longer the same Katy. I’m different… And I’m not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I’m capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Together we’re stronger…and they know it.
Opal for me was: OMG A freaking MUST-READ!!
I stayed up literally half the night just reading this book. I literally couldn’t put it down even though my mom fussed at me and told me to go to bed.If you’re looking for a book full of action, suspense, and drop dead SWOON, then Opal IS the book for you!
Dawson is back and is desperate to get back into the D.O.D. (The reason why remains to be unsaid at this time until you read it) 😉 So, that means the group has help him get back into the building.
But there’s a teensy, little problem… A thing called Onyx.
Apparently it’s a type of rock that is extremely painful for a Luxen to touch. (Bring you to your knees type of pain.) With this stopping them, how will they ever get into the D.O.D.? Better yet, what’s waiting for them on the other side?
When Katy sneaks into a warehouse one night, she finds a secret that changes the course of everything. Not to mention the fact that she has a surprise run in with someone everyone figured was dead…
Talk about a shocker there.
The clock was nearing four o’ clock in the morning but my eyes refused to turn away from my Kindle.
Five o’ clock my eyes started drooping but I still couldn’t pull myself away from my Kindle. I’d never experienced a book so much to where I felt like I was actually living in the book and I knew the characters on a personal level.
I just graduated from college in December and can still remember when I put off doing homework just to get back to my Luxen friends.
Expect to fall in love with these characters and plan to steal a couple of hours away from noise and daily life because you’re not going to want to miss out on this series.
I’m a huge Jennifer Armentrout. I love her writing style. Everything I have read by her has a mix of wit, sarcasm, swoony male characters! A perfect formula of awesomeness that I devoured in less than a day and a half!
And as a YA writer I always have a lot I can learn from by reading her books.
The only complaint I had for this book is that it had to end so soon. I need a Daemon quick fix.
What I don’t understand is why Dee is taking everything out on Katy. I mean, it “technically” wasn’t her fault that Adam got killed. She and Dee were doing the best they could to save Katy. So the fact that Dee is treating Katy like a bald headed stepchild is way beyond me.
When she and Daemon let him go in the end, I was completely shocked. He had just betrayed them for crying out loud!
I really hope Katy doesn’t consider taking him back as a friend after what he did to them.
***Okay NON-SPOILER people, you may return***
So, like all of us, the ending actually made me tear up. I don’t have the particular belief that guys shouldn’t cry because it makes them weak.
This statement always makes me cringe. We’re all human and we hall have emotions that are attacked to tear ducts.
We see definite improvement in Katy and Daemon’s relationship. Although Daemon still deserves a betoch slap every now and then. We can still see how much these two have come to love each other.
Was I the only one that was surprised by Dawsons’s appearance? But by the end of Shadows and the middle of Obsidian, I knew he was going to come back because they never actually had proof of Dawson’s body.
Period. So, I had that funny inkling feeling that he was alive all along.
Let’s see how Onyx rated on the coffee scale, shall we?
