A chance encounter in the dark leads eighteen-year-old Daniel and the girl who stumbles across him to profess their love for each other. But this love has conditions: they agree it will last only one hour, and it will be only make-believe. When their hour is up and the girl rushes off like Cinderella, Daniel tries to convince himself that what happened between them seemed perfect only because they were pretending it was. Moments like that happen only in fairy tales. One year and one bad relationship later, his disbelief in love-at-first-sight is stripped away the day he meets Six: a girl with a strange name and an even stranger personality. Unfortunately for Daniel, finding true love doesn’t guarantee a happily ever after . . . it only further threatens it. Will an unbearable secret from the past jeopardize Daniel and Six’s only chance at saving each other?

100X OMG.

So, this is my first Colleen Hoover book and right when I started the book, I was completely engrossed and in the middle of being sucked into the book I was yelling at myself…. as to WHY THE HECK I had waited so long to take advantage of reading her books?? Granted this is a novella and I HATED ‘EM because I always want MORE of the book, but gosh, all of that was blown out of the window when I started this book.

Just, oh, frickin’ man.

Right when I started reading I started smirking and my heart started to beat a little bit faster because POR FIN (FINALLY) I was able to get sucked into not only the plot, but I was IMMERSED INTO A PERSONAL LEVEL into the lives characters from the get-go! Lately I’ve had to keep reading a book in order to get stuck in a book due to my book slump.

So, in the beginning, Daniel, (the sexy male protagonist) hides in this closet at his highschool so he can escape his class when lo and behold, this girl barges in on him. Mind you, the lights are OFF so neither can see the other. Things happen, they get to know each other and BOOM, fireworks, kissing, and a whole lot of…. Well, you know..

Time passes and now these two FINALLY meet again, but get THIS..neither one of them know they’ve met before because they never actually saw each other face to face! So yeah…drama. (the good kind though. Promise.) ♥

♥Daniel: I had a hard time figuring out how he looked so I ended up picturing him in one way, which I’m pretty sure it didn’t even TOUCH how the dude really looks. One of the things I did LURVE about him though was the fact that he was so NICE and that made me swoon over him more, even though, PFFT, I usually go for the bad guys and the ones that are mysterious and all that. 😉

Being inside of Daniel’s head was DA BOMB, YO. *SQUEES*

200♥Six: She’s cool too. This girl has had a BAD time with relationships and her views on them are so TWISTED that it made me feel bad for her. She’s had such bad relationships that it’s got her thinking it’s the only way to be. If you can imagine (and use your mind here) she’s “had” a lot of guys and “done” a lot.

Get it?

Well, anyway, I only wish I could have gotten to know her and connected with her a little bit more, but pfft, IT’S FREAKING COLLEEN HOOVER, so, we’re all good. 😉

                                                 MY ONLY COMPLAINT?

It’s a novella! I mean, I feel that if the ENTIRE book was spent on them not knowing who the other is and both desperately searching for the one in which they made a connection with, it would have been one draggy.

But still, a girl can WISH for a longer story, can’t she?

So, this is actually rare for me not to find anything wrong with a book. I didn’t find anything in particular wrong with the characters, the plot, NOTHIN’. Amazing right? Yes. Yes, I know.

                             Over to you:

Have you guys tried Coho (Colleen  Hoover) –》 I only know her abbreviations because I stalk her on FB. Literally. And no, no I am not ashamed.

  1. I’ve never read any Colleen Hoover o_O I keep seeing her books around (I think I even own a couple!) but just haven’t quite got there yet. I think I’ll have to though, after reading your wonderful review!

    • OH YASS Wattle, you have to at least try one of her books if you’re big into NA like that? She knows how to make her characters and how to make you do the swoon! <3

  2. I have this and the previous 2 books, and I know I’ll be reading the first one soon. Glad that you loved this one! You should try her Never Never books that she co-penned with Tarryn Fisher. They’re short and full of mystery, but there’s romance. I really can’t wait to read the last one that releases soon.

I read a little short by her just to test drive her writing after hearing such good stuff. But it was so short that I couldn’t get into it. I think I have this one on my Kindle so I’m glad it was fantastic. Novellas are hit or miss for me depending on how well the writer can develop the story. Sounds like this pair are engaging people. I’ll have to get to CoHo’s books soon- so much love for her around that they must be good.

    • I don’t really understand what the purpose of a novella if it’s not the beginning of a bigger series? It just seems like it’s really hard to pull off, you know? But pfft, what do I know? And yes, I say you give Hoover another try girl because she’s awesome! Her writing and her personality as well! <3

Yay for your first CoHo! You should read Hopeless next (it’s a related book)! That one is so good!!

  5. I haven’t read a Colleen Hoover book either, and this one does sound wonderful! I’m not a big fan of novellas either – I feel like the story is never developed enough for me, but your review makes me very interested in this! The premise is so out there (it’s hard to imagine what would induce a girl to make out with a complete stranger in a closet LOL) but the Cinderella aspect makes me more interested. 🙂

  6. Girl, whaaaat! How have you not read any of her books?! (I haven’t read this too, though, hahahaha!) Buttttttt, go pick up Ugly Love or Maybe Someday RIGHT NOWWWW (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) Those are the only two CoHo books I’ve read so far and I. LOVE. THEM! You won’t regret it, I swear. She’s sooooo good with her stuff!

    • I LOVE how expressive you are in your commenting. It was like I could picture you screaming this at me and going total fan girl. IT.WAS.EPIC. Teehee! And I know you and I usually run with the same taste in books so I know that if YOU loved it I TOO SHALL LOVE IT. You and I, we are just epic like that. <3

  7. I have this but i haven’t read it yet. Like I said I’m not the hugest Colleen fan but I’m hopeful I’ll find one I love! Glad you loved this one!

    • A lot of people have been recommending me to read Slammed and Never Never by her, soooo I say give at least one of those a try? Maybe you’ll fall in love with her books? Well, I hope you can! <3

  8. lmao I just really like when you say ” Lurve ” haha. But I haven’t read this one yet either! I’m like you, I don’t read many novellas, well at all really, mostly because they’re so short, and if they’re good, it’s like noooooo I want more. I’m glad to see that this is satisfying regardless of the length!

  9. Don’t *even* get me started on CoHo. lol She’s my absolute favorite. And the Hopeless books (Hopeless, Losing Hope, and Finding Cinderella) are some of my favorites. I actually read Finding Cinderella last and as much as I enjoyed Daniel in the first two books as a side character and I was kind of like… meh about reading a novella about him. Thank goodness I did! CoHo managed to have me in tears in like 150 pages (or however long it was). I hope you’ll read Hopeless and Losing Hope now and get all of Dean and Sky’s story!! 🙂

    • GIRL! I have SO much catching up to do! 🙁 I’m a huge fan of COHO since I started following her on social media it’s shown me even more books to totally FAN GIRL over! <3 And I really loved Daniel! I LOVED HIM in Cinderella! There’s just something a bout COHO’s writing that sucks you in! <3 (which I’m sure you already know) 🙂

I haven’t read a book by Colleen Hoover yet and I know, I know I am just going to love it when I read one. I got two of her books last month and I am so excited for when there is a break in my reading schedule and I can just dive into them!
